Peter the Pirate and a Baroque pirate adventure
With the family concert Peter the Pirate and a Baroque pirate adventure, children and young-at-heart audiences are invited into the magical world…
On the day before the premiere of La Liberazione, we invite you to a seminar on female opera composers, with a special focus on Francesca Caccini, whose La Liberazione (1625) is the earliest surviving opera by a woman composer.
Bente Rolandsdotter, Artistic Director of Den Andra Operan, presents a historical perspective on female opera composers during the first three centuries of opera. Musicologist Holger Schmitt-Hallenberg places the work in its historical context, followed by a discussion with director Jacopo Spirei, set and costume designer Bente Rolandsdotter, and lighting designer Giuseppe di Iorio, moderated by Peter Spissky. The seminar is held in English.
