Mathias Algotsson invites to jazz and folk tunes with Lisa Långbacka

All about jazz

Jazz pianist, improviser and composer Mathias Algotsson is known for his melodic and atmospheric playing style. Since the mid-nineties, he has been a sought-after pianist who plays around the world with well-known names such as Barbara Hendricks and Rigmor Gustafsson, to name a few. Mathias is also a popular composer and, in addition to writing for his own groups, also writes choral music and is published by Gehrmans Musikförlag. Mathias has made six albums under his own name and many digital singles/EPs. In addition to Europe, Mathias has also toured in Japan (duo and trio) and has been awarded several awards, including “Dompan’s Golden Saxophone”, as the only “non-saxophonist” to receive the Arne Domnérus Jazz Prize. Mathias is also a Steinway Spirio recording artist*.

Lisa Långbacka, accordionist, moves between different musical worlds, from collaborations with pop, jazz and folk musicians to opera and theater music. Most recently in the Tolvskillingsoperan at the Dramaten. She has been named Accordionist of the Year and has toured with artists such as Lena Willemark, Trondheimsolistene, Tomas Ledin and Augustifamiljen. In 2017, Lisa Långbacka was music producer for the Nobel Banquet where she also participated as a musician and composer. Together with violinist Lisa Rydberg, she has the duo LISAS which won a Grammis in 2024 for the album Etiam.
