Across two concerts on the same day — Wiener Melange and Nordlichter — we are treated to music by Haydn, Mozart, Noid, Pranulyte, and evocative works from the Nordic world of the eighteenth century.
The Lombardini Quartet was founded in Vienna in 2016 and is named after violinist and composer Maddalena Laura Lombardini Sirmen, whose remarkable career in the 18th century continues to inspire the ensemble.
The quartet has performed at festivals and concert series in Austria and released its debut album of Lombardini’s string quartets in 2022.
The ensemble focuses on rediscovering forgotten early Classical works, performing on historical instruments. Through creative interpretations, they highlight the expressive sound world of the music while challenging traditional approaches.
